Melissa began her journey to becoming a Creative Arts Therapist while pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with a minor in Psychology. As a fine arts student, she recognized the power of artmaking to heal when judgment and criticism are absent. Understanding how what we create can reflect our innermost experiences is powerful and often transformative.
With 15 years of experience, Melissa has helped people navigate depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and relationship conflicts. She enjoys guiding individuals to tap into their emotions, increase self-awareness, and improve mindfulness. Utilizing a strengths-based approach, she is passionate about helping people recognize and harness their innate resilience.
Melissa specializes in working with adults and has experience in a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatry, PROS/psychiatric rehabilitation, and dual diagnosis programs.
